The scientists at the University of Wyoming is trying to develop solar panels and solar car batteries with higher energy efficiency. They are planning to provide a 4 percent increase in energy efficiency. According to their research, they found that adding Magnesium atoms to solar cells will increase the energy conversion rate to 300 percent. Currently, some states like Colorado have large solar fields supplying industry scale electricity to houses and offices. By the research conducting in the University of Wyoming the solar power will be available easily. The Rock Spring Airport installed solar panels with a grant from Rocky Mountain Power which will reduce the energy bills in the next 15 years.

“A farmer may need a water pump in a remote area to water his livestock,” explained Dahnovsky, one of the study’s authors and a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. “If there’s no electricity, he may use solar cells to power the water pump".

When there is growth and research happen in the solar technology it will help to reduce the use of non-renewable energy sources. Also, the cost for the development of solar or wind-related products will decrease soon. In Wyoming, they are depending mostly on the traditional fuel sources like coal and natural gas. This is their major income generators. But for a better future people start to support solar products. 

The professors’ research was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Basic Energy Sciences, via UW’s EPSCoR program, which encourages nationally competitive research and diversity in STEM fields.

Sea Water Desalination Using Solar Power

In California, a new technique for desalination is built. Seawater desalination is a costly process. Here desalination process is done with solar power. The electromagnetic desalination is done through a pipe. This pipe is built and held in sea water. The solar energy is used to pump out the saline water into the electromagnetic desalination unit. Khalili Engineers from Canada created this plan.

This is a discussion about solar companies in Utah. Recently a company named Rocky Mountain Power submitted a revision of amounts. If this proposal is approved most of the small companies who are supplying the solar systems need to close their companies. According to the new proposal, Rocky mountain Power it will give benefits to residentials who adds solar energy to the grid. Also, they will have the lowest energy charges. 

They are also trying to reduce the cost of rooftop solar panel fixing and at the same time increase the people to fix the solar energy as their prime source of power.
